Experimental Letters

As part of further experimentation, the following letters were created exploring a wide range of textures, spaces and objects.

Mourn

Drawing inspiration from the metaphor of concealment and fragility, silk laces were used to create the composition for Daphne’s phrase “I mourn for you, Brother”.

The following are type put into the context of layouts for a tabloid:

Garden

Gradually decaying coloured wood and archaic deteriorating Victorian architecture was used to represent the juxtaposition of the phrase “Let’s walk in the garden” that displayed the beginning of a friendship but also the sourness of the moment.

Typographic Voice

Type: Experimental Typography, Visual Narrative

Mentor: Sohee Kwon

Typographic Voice and Visual Narrative was aimed at building typography with material and spaces that metaphorically portrays the character of Daphne Bridgerton and the Regency Period. It draws attributes from her wardrobe, surroundings and her response to scenarios to represent her personality.

Every word is built with the foundation of understanding formations of singular typefaces and experimenting with type and imagery.
